Why Homeowners Choose Quartz Countertops
Versatility in Design
Unlike natural stones that come with fixed patterns and colors, Quartz offers a broader palette of colors, patterns, and finishes, making it a perfect match for any interior decor or theme.
Strength & Durability
Quartz countertops are renowned for their resilience. Comprising over 90% natural quartz material and binders, they are hard, scratch-resistant, and built for heavy-duty usage, making them ideal for bustling kitchens and busy bathrooms.
Low Maintenance
Bid adieu to regular sealing and rigorous scrubbing. Quartz surfaces are non-porous, implying they resist staining and don't harbor bacteria or viruses. A simple wipe-down with a damp cloth is all it takes to keep them sparkling.
Consistency
While the charm of natural stones lies in their unique patterns, Quartz offers a more consistent look, ensuring that what you select in the showroom is exactly what graces your space.
Eco Friendly
Modern Quartz manufacturing processes prioritize sustainability, often using recycled materials, making it a choice you can be proud of, not just for its appearance but for its reduced carbon footprint.
Value for Money
Given its longevity, resilience, and minimal maintenance requirements, Quartz countertops offer excellent value over their lifespan, making them a worthy investment for homes and businesses.
Quartz Countertop Installation: What’s The Process?
The entire process, from slab selection to installation, is conducted with attention to detail, ensuring homeowners receive a countertop that not only enhances the beauty of their space but also offers unmatched durability and functionality.
Research and Inspiration
- Before diving in, homeowners often spend time researching online, browsing magazines, or visiting showrooms to gather inspiration and understand what styles and colors resonate with their aesthetic desires.
- With three prime locations in Warsaw, Elkhart, and Fort Wayne, Indiana, The Granite Shop invites customers to see, touch, and feel the slabs in person. This tangible experience aids in making more informed decisions.
In-Home Measurements & Consultation
- Once a design is in mind, a professional from The Granite Shop visits the homeowner's property. This visit involves taking precise measurements and discussing potential design, edge profiles, and other customizations.
Price Quote & Final Decision
- Based on measurements and customization preferences, The Granite Shop provides a detailed price quote. Once the homeowner approves the quote and finalizes their choice, the real magic begins.
Template Creation
Using the measurements, a template of the countertop space is crafted. This template ensures the slab is cut accurately and will fit seamlessly into the designated space.
Slab Selection & Final Review
- Once the homeowner decides on a specific slab after inspecting it in person, it's reserved for their project.
- It's crucial to inspect the actual slab as images or samples might not truly represent the stone's depth and variation.
Fabrication
- Using the template, the slab is cut and shaped. This step is carried out with advanced machinery to ensure precision.
- Edges are profiled based on the homeowner's selection (e.g., rounded, beveled, or ogee edges).
- Any finish (high gloss, honed, leathered) is then applied to the granite's surface.
Installation
- The old countertop, if any, is removed.
- The granite slab is then securely fixed in place. This step may include adding support structures, especially for larger spans or overhangs.
- Sinks, faucets, and other fixtures are installed or reinstalled.
- Seams, if any, are carefully sealed to ensure a smooth appearance and prevent any moisture infiltration.
